Position Summary: The Staff Physician will be committed to contributing to our Mission of, “Working together to achieve excellent health”.
Urgent telephone consultations with health aides in villages, inpatient and OB coverage. Supervise and mentor students and residents, mentor and act as consultants for NP’s and PA’s. May do endoscopies, tubals, outpatient surgical procedures and C-sections if trained and experienced. May work as primary ER attending if trained and experienced. May be asked to be a collaborative physician for PA’s. Inpatient rotations are 7 days with 10 hour shifts or 3-4 days with 14 hour night shifts.
Must have completed an accredited medical school.
Must have completed a residency training program and be board eligible or board certified (unless specific exception is made) by the appropriate board of the American Medical Association or the American Osteopathic Association.
Must have Alaska State License and DEA License.
Must have computer skills needed to access computerized medical records.
Needs the skills and knowledge to practice medicine in the area of their specialty.
Ability to supervise medical students, residents, physician extenders and community Health Aide clinical practice.
